Ambient Noise Groundwater Monitoring in Kaweah

After finishing our fieldwork last week, we have now finally deployed all of our 14 seismometers. See the maps below for the site distribution. Together with the permanent stations of the Caltech and Berkeley Networks, we will have a network of around ~25 stations in and around the Kaweah basin.

We will use the ground motion data these seismometers record for Ambient Noise Interferometry, where we use the ambient seismic wavefield to detect small changes in the material properties of the subsurface in our study area. With this we will monitor changes in groundwater storage in space and time.

Really EXCELLENT - thanks so much!
